| Welcome!
Nurturing Healthy Transitions I believe in the importance of support during transition, and in my dual therapy and doula practice I am offered a wide breadth of opportunity to share in others' diverse life experiences. Whether you are considering doula care or mental health therapy, my goal is to promote wellness and a deeper connection to self.
The Greek Goddess Themis, for whom my practice is named, is representative of many values I embrace, including the promotion of independence, connection to community, empowerment, social justice, and liberation. She has been called the force that binds people together. She is known as the collective conscience, the social imperative, the social order. Her name is believed to mean steadfast. The myth of Themis describes her as a strong and binding presence during birth. Her link to childbirth is, of course, symbolic of my passion for supporting individuals during family-expansion journeys and the childbirth process. Your Experience
As a doula and clinical Social Worker, I understand there are countless positive ways to birth and care for babies (and self), and I thus do not insist that you adhere yourself to any specific theories or practices. I approach my work with you as a collaborative effort, and I am committed to providing you with information and support that will guide you on your journey. With the utmost humility and respect, I take great care to learn from my clients. I am passionate about providing culturally relevant care and I always assume that the people with whom I work are the experts of their own experience. Wishing you a healthy, supported, and meaningful journey! |
